OCA-GH APA Film Festival

This  summer, the APASA Executive Board has been working extensively with external organizations to gain further knowledge of the APA (Asian Pacific American) community and its issues to bring back to the Rice campus.

In June, OCA-Greater Houston, the Houston branch of nationwide civil rights organization OCA  – Asian Pacific American Advocates, hosted its annual Asian Pacific American Film Festival where APASA EV Chair Nicole Zhao was emceeing!

Nicole (far right) stands next to Gee-Wey Yue, president of the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of the South Region (UVSA South).

The film festival, which was hosted at Brilliart Films studio, was full of inspiring APA films and documentaries and was followed by an Arts Night, where many talented local artists and musicians came to share their wonderful talents.

APASA definitely plans on screening similar films and documentaries on the Rice campus for the rest of the student body to see.
